TEACHING

I have over a decade of experience teaching Irish music to people of all ages and musical backgrounds. Teaching has allowed me to play a fulfilling role in passing this tradition along and connecting with others through our common interest in Irish music. My objective is to provide students with skills they can use to further explore traditional music independently as they build their repertoire. Each lesson is customized to fit the needs and abilities of the learner.

Currently offering in-person, Skype, or video exchange lessons for:

- Tin whistle- Beginner through advanced

- Uilleann pipes- Beginner through intermediate

- Repertoire building for tin whistle, flute, or uilleann pipes

Workshops for:

-Tin whistle - all levels

-Beginning uilleann piping

-General repertoire building

"Colleen taught an all-instruments repertoire workshop for our group earlier this year. She brought an eclectic variety of interesting tunes, presented with her own beautiful sense of musicality and creativity. Her teaching was as fun and engaging as it was effective and thorough, leading a group of about 20 musicians of varying ability levels and instruments through several tunes over the course of two hours. We can't wait to have her back again soon!"

Detroit Irish Music Association Chair
